Ok...let's see, I am not trying to be smart .....BUT.........you mentioned that you suffered a financial hardship and could not afford to see your surgeon but you found money to travel the world???

Ok.. let's forget that and get to your current problem, what makes you think your band has slipped? Sometimes if you are doing bad things like drinking alcohol and vomiting frequently (not saying you were doing those things) the band can get very irritated to the point of obstruction, OR if you had been eating very dense foods and throwing up if you did not chew well this can also irritate the band. You probably need to see your surgeon to check your band ASAP, and in the meantime you probably want to go on liquids for at least 2 days and get some liquid Tylenol that will reduce swelling, you don't want to take any NAIDS, and if you have heat pad apply it to your chest that will also help relieve swelling, and if your reflux is really bad you may want to have your surgeon to prescribe some Protonix it really helps the reflux and burning.

You also mentioned that you have always ate slider foods, you may have already been too tight and did not know it, so many bandsters don't even know their level of restriction since they tend to gravitate towards easy slider foods, the problem is if you try to eat SOLID FOOD ON A TOO TIGHT BAND THIS MAY CAUSE  YOUR POUCH TO STRETCH if you PB often which CAN lead to a band slip if you do this daily...good luck and see your surgeon soon.

You didn't do anything to yourself. It's the nature of the lapband, honestly. The constant irritation of the stomach by the band causes all kinds of "fun and exciting" problems.

First thing you need to do is get checked to make sure your band is in proper position. If it is not, you'll have to make a decision: revise, replace the band (which sets you up for further slippage down the road, unfortunately) or band removal.

If you're throwing up and having reflux, you need a doctor's advice, so definitely find a way to see one.
I hope it all works out for you. Disregard those who will tell you it's 'your fault.' There are way too many of us who have been in the same boat through no fault of our own. It's fear and ignorance that makes people blame the patient instead of the faulty device.

I was actually thinking the same thing about travelling but not having money for the doctor.  So I think it's not being a smart ...it's a valid question.

If I were you I would stay on liquids till I get in to see a surgeon ASAP.  Your band may not have slipped but delaying could cause a slip.

Good luck
