2 year Bandiversary
Hello peeps!
I haven't posted here in awhile. I have been spending some time on the pregnancy after wls page.
I just realized it has been 2 years since my lapband surgery. What a rollercoaster it has been!
I have never ever regretted getting my surgery. I am so thankful for modern science and my doctor and staff for helping me with this. It has really changed my life for the better.
I'm not saying I never had any issues. Most of the time if I did have issues is when I brought them on myself by either eating to fast or to much. The band takes some time and patience and if you don't have both it will be difficult to succeed.
The band has helped me become pregnant in December (which very unfortunately m/c at the end of January) That has been a mountain that I had to really overcome and had major issues with. Especially with gaining the baby weight and then losing the baby. My surgeon took fluid out of my band so I was able to eat more for the baby, so I was able to eat a lot more and of course after I m/c I gained about 10 lbs. Emotional eating ...does it ever end?
I have since gotten back down to my prepregnancy weight. I have to get my umbilical hernia repaired again and need to lose about another 15 pounds to get to my goal. I would have been at my goal by now but life threw a curve ball at me. We have decided that after I get my hernia repaired and get my weight down closer to goal that we are going to start trying again. Atleast now I know that I can get pregnant and the band has helped me get there.
It has helped me have so much more confidence and I am able to do things now that I have struggled with for so long.
Thanks for reading
Jana
Congrats on your bandiversary and thanks for the update. I think anyone would have gained weight from a pregnancy and miscarriage while unfilled. I hope you're able to add to your family again eventually. Just two days ago I saw a former coworker who had miscarried her first child and spent over a year trying to get over that emotionally. She was busy shopping for summer clothes while her hubby held their new, beautiful, healthy baby boy.
