It pops up on the right and it says,
" Lap Band through single incision hidden in the belly button " HOW do they do that
Don't you need one hole for the camera, one for the port, two for the salad tongs, and one for something I have never figured out ?

the incision through the belly button is "wider" and there are new instruments that mimic the "salad tongs" through one instrument. It's pretty cool actually. Have seen the procedure a couple of times in the OR... quite fascinating!
all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence. I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!

I would have LOVED having my surgery done that way.

I like the idea of no visible incision A LOT.
I had mine done like that in May. They refer to the instrument as the spider. I have a two in*****ision right above my navel that actally is like a frown. Can't even see it:) Also about 1/4 incision right below breast bone. Love it:)
My doctor says not everyone is a candidate. You cannot have alot of belly fat.

It's actually pretty cool! I watched youtube videos of it a few weeks ago! There's like this tunnel they use to widen the belly button and you can place all of your instruments through that one tunnel. I asked my BC about it at a meeting I attneded in march and she said my surgeon only does it on a case by case basis! I'm hoping i'm one of the cases! The less incisions the less pain, I guess!
