Thanks everyone!

It has been so hard and I can't wait to start feeling relief!

I completely understand the frustration of having a failed band inside of you. It SUCKS!!! Glad you are having it removed.  I also had esophageal dysmotility and it is NOT FUN.  Waking up choking on your acid every 20 minutes is no good either as it made working a living hell.

Congrats on getting your band out, I too remember you from the way back days. No one should have to suffer like that. Wishing you all the best!

I had my lap band installed in August 2004.  It was eroding thru my stomach and I just had it removed 7/7/11.  It was done laprascopic, but I am still not 100% yet.  I still have a sore spot where they removed the port.

This was surgery #7 for me and the longest recovery of them all.  Everyone has their own recovery time and healing.  I have not had any food issues at all.  I just don't have anything restricting my intake of food.

My hubby has been great though.  He is making my plate to control my portions for me.  I am happy to say I have lost 10 pounds since surgery and plan to do more, as I won't do another surgery.  The doc said I needed to wait 6 months before he would consider anything, but I won't do it.  Too many surgeries already.

Aside from the pain from healing, I am ok.  I think there was something done near a muscle and my abdomen is just slow healing.

I wish anyone and everyone the best of luck.  I am also happy to answer any questions about band removal and stomach erosion of the band.  One day at a time is my philosophy...
