Does anyone no will a stretched esophogus go back dw?

If your esophagus is dilated, it can heal, but if you have a band, it needs to be completely unfilled. Some people recover from dilated esophagus and some continue to have problems.

If you have a lot of scar tissue, it may take longer to heal. Are you having any issues with reflux?

I've never heard of this complication. What kind of symptoms did you have? What caused it?

I had this problem and also the area above my band looked as though it had a hernia on one side.  I had experienced major acid reflux and meds did not help.  My Dr. Did a fill under fluro scope and was able to see all of these problems.  I had my band emptied and was on liquids for two weeks.  When I had the fluro again the damage was gone.
