Go and graze no more!
I went to my band doctor on Tuesday for an office visit. I got a small (0.2 cc) fill, and I think I am finally smack dab in the green zone. Yay! I am eating tiny amounts and am never hungry. My stomach hasn't growled a single time in the past 3 days. It's so strange, but I love it!
Anyway... I hadn't lost ANYTHING since my last office visit a month ago. I was describing my eating habits with the PA (who is also banded and knows exactly what I'm talking about - I love her!!!) and I confessed to her that I thought I was overeating. For example, if I had a salad for dinner, I would eat a few bites and have to stop, but then I would just keep the bowl next to me as I read a book or watch TV, and every now and then I would take a couple of bites. I would eventually finish the salad, over the course of the evening. She looked at me and told me that what I had just described was called grazing, and that I need to stop doing it. ROTFL I don't think I was doing it because I was still hungry. I think it was part mindless eating, and part mental, because I just wanted to finish what was on my plate (or in my bowl). So from here on out, my orders are to limit myself to 30 minutes at mealtime. When my 30 minutes are up, I am supposed to put away whatever I haven't eaten. Put it back in the fridge, toss it, whatever. I am optimistic that with my small fill and my new "30 minute rule," I hope to see a nice loss when I go back for my next office visit.
I'm sure I am not the only grazer out there. If you are a grazer like me, then stop it! We can do this!

First, hella coo' about the green zone! Im finally, after seven months feeling restriction myself, so I know how awesome it is to be close to or actually there...
I am notorious for grazing. I do know without restriction it was hard to not be hungry soon after but my logic was "I will just make it last" lol. Im not bright but I am fun to have around.
I noticed that, since I was on restricted fluids for a few years for kidney issues, getting into the swing of getting in enough fluid was work for me. I wouldnt think to drin****il I ate and it made me thirsty or I was taking meds after eating. I was washing my food down. So my focus has been on my fluids and how to "administer" them, using only a small sip or two to get my meds in after eating.
Thanks for posting this, really made me think
