I understand how you feel.  I feel the same way when I see those posts.  People who never had the band shouldn't make blanket statements.  Generalizing about any WLS or any group of people is wrong.  When it comes to former bandsters that had bad experiences (their fault or not) I give them the benefit of the doubt that there is some lingering resentment towards the band because of the problems they encountered.

I don't mind people telling their stories good, bad and the ugly.  But tell the story in an unbiased way.  Meaning don't act like your experience will happen to everyone.  For instance...my one big complaint about the band is that it took me 9 fills (almost a year and half) to get the level I needed.  Now I know this isn't the case for everyone.  Some have restriction right away.  I come on here and warn this is something that could happen.  You might not feel lik you even has WLS for awhile, waiting for that fill.  That's me talking about my one complaint.  But I also lost 150 lbs...

You're right - definitely.  The blanket statements shouldn't be made because there ARE some happy bandsters out there.  I'm part of the WLS community on Youtube and there's a lovely woman named BandedWendy who has been beyond successful with her band and she's pure inspiration.

I had a band for over 3 years so I know how hard the band is, compared to other WLS's (I've had 3 WLS's so far - the band, the VSG, and now the DS.)  Other than the RNY, I've tried them all and the band was by far the hardest.  You guys work - and I mean work to the fullest degree.  You guys are no sissy's.  I respect that big time.

I can't apologize for the numerous times you guys have been offended or annoyed by other WLS patients that have bad-mouthed the band.  Do I have bad opinions about the band? Yes, for a lot of reasons.  But while the band was in me, I did lose over 120 pounds, so I do know that success with the band is possible.  If I had started off a "light weight", and lost those 120 pounds, I would be one of those success stories.

My point is; Try to take everything with a grain of salt, you know?  You don't need to aggravate yourself anymore than necessary.  Life is aggravating enough.  And that block button works lovely, too.

Hugs!
