So i had my surgery last Thursday.  That night and Friday i had some "stinkin' thinkin'" and thought what have i done???!!!  Each day i have felt better and better though.  I saw the doc for follow up today.  told him i'm thirsty all the time and he said i'm probably dehydrated.  I'm have trouble taking in a lot of liquids though becasue I'm full ALL THE TIME!  and burping a lot too.  He thought maybe there was some swelling around the band which is why i feel tight.  I then "forced" myself to have more of a protein drink and got the worst gas.  Anyway i guess it's all a learning process.  I can have mushies on Thursday maybe that will be better?

Marlene,

You'll feel better and better every day, but I wouldn't rush into eating mushies on Thursday if you're still having problems drinking enough liquids.

You probably got gas from the protein drink because you swallowed a lot of air while "forcing" yourself to drink it.

I was told to drink no more than 1 ounce every 15 minutes, but to drink at least 64 ounces a day.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had my surgery yesterday and last night and this morning I was like OMG...what did I do? I'm starting to feel a little better. Good Luck!! We'll get through this and we'll be happy when we are healthy again.

Thanks Jean.  I believe the gas was from drinking to quickly too.  I stopped and got some soup from the chinese takeout on my way home from work.  Ate it slowly.  It was so good to have something yummy and hot!

J,  each day has gotten better.  the only day that was hard was the first one. Hang in there!

I am also POD5, and I can't even begin to imagine eating regular food.  I know I am not drinking enough.  I wish I could do protein drinks... nothing but clears till I see the doc Friday.  Hang in there.
