First day post op :-(
Revision on 08/21/12
Walk a lot, use your heating pad. I used Gas-Ex strips with mixed success, and hot drinks were soothing over all. The more you walk the faster you will get past this. It isn't fun but you will feel better after a bit. We're glad to have you join us on the losers bench, been saving you a spot.
Good luck, and feel free to come here to whine if needed. We've all done it. I was pretty loud but the point is that I am still alive. You will love your band one day and will mostly forget the trouble it was to get it.

nicole i was banded last thursday. Can i tell you that i feel 1000% better than i did the first day out. The weather was bad last week and i couldn't really go outside to walk. I had read on here to walk walk walk! So i marched back and forth in my house! I tried the gas x strips too but didn't think it did much. Good luck and know that you will feel better. last friday i was really miserable. Each day has gotten better and better!
I was also done last Thursday, and started having the shoulder pain in the Rec. Room. I walked the halls and used a heating pad. I don't think it lasted that long. I am still gettting a twinge here and there, but nothing like that 1st day or two. (I pulled an abdominal muscle and that hurts like hell... but no more gas pain.)

I walked circles around the fireplace round and round and round... my husband and daughter would make the laps with me so I didnt feel silly... let me tell you.... it helped. sit for 10 minutes walk around your house for 5 and then repeat.... You WILL get through this!
