Maybe, but I have been having issues with tough beans, corn and peas lately...seems like the skins just don't chew up so well!

if you like them, i would try lentils / split peas / chick peas / shelled edamame - where the skins can separate.
just a thought.

Hey Steph,
My first stuck episode was on 93% hamburger, only had a few little bites and I got stuck at 9 months out.  I was stuck for 40 minutes and it hurt BAD.  I've only been stuck 4x's in almost 2 years and I realized that it was from too dry of food.  I've never PB'd ever.  My stuck episodes have lasted up to 2 hours.

I need to find some Papaya enzyme.  I've read about it, but never got any.  So where in the world would I find this?  A drugstore, Walmart, by meds, or in a GNC store?  I have no idea.

Sorry to hear about your stuck episode.

Oh, the other night was the first time I tried hamburger in over a year.  It didn't appeal to me at all and I could go another year without it. hee hee  Give me chicken or steak or pork chops, or fish any day over hamburger.

Have a good weekend,
Kristi

I got it at Bartells, a local pharmacy/drug store chain here in the NW.  It was in the supplement area near the garlic capsules...it's cheap...$5.99 for a hundred and tastes kind of like Tums.  Today is liquids all day, just to be sure.
I pb'd every time I tried to drink water...thinking the offending piece of food was out...every time bringing up some of those skins.  It is amazing how two tablespoons can look like so much!

Steph,
Srry about ur stuck episode, glad the enzymes helped. :)
I found that most "skinned" foods I have trouble with (ie: peas and beans) it feels like no matter how long I chew they simply don't break down enough.
Also there are very few foods I can eat as leftovers. I think (this is my own philosphical idea) that considering microwaves use the water particles in foods to reheat it lowers the moisture the food has and as we all know dry foods seem to be harder to digest. So it may have actually been a combination of both?
I know we don't all have the same intolerancies food wise though so in your case that might not be an issue. Hope this helps none-the-less.

For some reason I can not eat re-heated food!   It's weird that the consistency changes even if it's not dry.  My lucky husband gets to eat all of the left overs!  The only time I can eat warmed up food is if it's soup or chili, etc.  Solids?  No way!

I'm glad you're feeling better.
