One of the women who was gettting her surgery the same day as me told me about this site so I figured it couldn't hurt to join it.

Just had my surgery on May 17th.  I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to deal with the early soreness and stuff.

Welcome to the site! Walking as often as you can, take any pain medication that your dr has prescribed and be kind to yourself. Heeling takes time. Remember to keep yourself hydrated and get plenty of rest. We're making room for you on the Loser's Bench!!

Meds meds meds - Take those meds your doctor gave you.  Do little walks here and there and you'll be back to normal in no time.

The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time...

Welcome to the site.  The thing that helped me with the pain besides walking, was a heating pad.  It really helped my shoulder pain.  Just don't burn yourself like I did.  It felt so good, I left it on too long.  Good luck.. Each day gets better.
One day at a time, and one meal at a time, and I WILL reach my goal!

I've also been having really bad gas pains and gas x hasn't really been working.  Anything else anyone did to help with this?
