mederma?
I used it on my daughter she fell and got stitches on her forehead. Not sure it really made that much of a difference honestly and at the time it was really costly. Now they have cheaper versions I think. It takes awhile but your scars should turn almost skin toned after awhile. All my other surgical scars have and my lapband ones are getting alot lighter and smaller now. I am not sure it is even worth the hassle and expence in my opinion . LOL I thought about it but mine are fading so well now I did not see the point.
I didn't need anything for my incision for the lapband, but my surgeon recommended mederma when i had my thyroid removed (cancer). I didn't find it to be very helpful. However, a physical therapist recommended silicon scar strips to me, and those helped quite a bit. I even gave my extras to a friend with a bad scar from cardiac surgery, and they are working wonders on his scar, years after the fact. They cost a bit, about $25 for a box of ten, but each one can be cut into smaller pieces, and used for a week.
I didn't even bother because I had about 200 lbs to lose and knew plastic surgery was in my future. So now I have lost 150 lbs so far and it looks like I was right. I will need surgery to get rid of the extra skin....so hopefully they will cut off most of the scars too!!! just something to think about.
