I am so excited that I was approved for LapBand surgery! My first visit with the surgeon was April 14th and here I am two weeks away! I started my diet today, maybe it won't be to hard on me. I'm ready for a change!  Do you guys have any tips on what I need to take to the hospital? I am having an outpatient surgery (keeping my fingers crossed). Also, if you are interested I'd love if ya'll would follow my blog.

That is awesome !!!! The diet is a little tough but you seem to have a great attitude about it and that will help alot. For the hospital I would take the following things....
Chapstick ....you will need this alot after surgery!
A pillow ....to cover your tummy on the ride home!
Wear some really stretchy , comfy clothes you may be a little bloated and swollen after surgery and those feel great.
Wear easy on or slip on shoes....obviously they will come in handy after surgery.:)
Whoever goes with you should take a book or something to do while they wait on you .
and that is all I can think of.
Stock your house up pre surgery with things you will need afterwards so you do not ha ve to worry about running or getting someone to run to the store for you. (get a selection of flavors of crystal lite, G2,broths and protein shakes. You will get sick of the same flavors over and over again.)
Good luck !!!! You will do great :)

Good for you! I found the preop diet hard but then now I think about it its the last time weight loss is sooo hard with out help!

I had a hard time the day before the surgery. I was all liquids plus my surgeon wanted my system cleaned out so I had to take Milk of Magnesia and I spent the afternoon on the toilet. You may not want to work the day before if you have to do these things.

I had to stay overnight at the hospital. If you do I would suggest you bring toothbush and toothpaste. I couldn't drink for another 24 hours after surgery. My mouth got gross and I brushed it alot. Its pretty sad when berium for the fluro scope tasted GOOD! (My surgeon had a pic. taken of the band to double check placement and for leakage the next morning). If you are able to have jello have it ready. Also, I made my own broth before because the store bought ones are just too salty!

Good luck
