Frustrated need to vent

I am having my repeat colonoscopy tomorrow and was given my instructions for Prep today. UGH.  This is not easy with my band.  I was told to guzzle 16 oz of this mixture and then another 32 oz within the hour.  NO WAY.  I am drinking and drinking but not that much.  I have spent the entire day on clear fluids ( kinda use to this from my pre and post band days haha). 

At 10 pm tonight.. I Have to repeat this whole procedure of drinking and am ready to barf.  

Anyway .. had to vent.  There is no way I can drink all this liquid tonight..  

wish me luck tomorrow, I need it.  Hopefully this will be a clear test, I can't deal with anything crazy right now.  :)

I just had my first one last week. Drinking that crap was the worst part, I had to drink half the jug, 8 oz every 10 minutes. I actually didn't drink it all since "things" were flowing well, so to speak. The taste is worse than the amount, to me. Hopefully after this one you will not have to do it again for awhile. Just keep swimming. Good luck!!  ( I had a really good nap when I came home)

It's too late now, but next time you have a colonscopy, ask the doctor for the pills.  It requires taking 10 small tabs of a laxative the afternoon before and 10 the night before.  They are really tiny so you shouldn't have a problem with them.  This is what a lot of my patients do for the colon prep, as well as my mom who has had gastric bypass 8 years ago.

Good luck.  The worst part is the prep, so you're almost there.

That phosphate stuff, I think it was.

Now I had to take buttloads (ha) of Miralax mixed in Gatorade and then a bunch of laxatives, too. Barrrrrf.

Is the colonoscopy part of the lap band process? Just wondering.

No, colonoscopy is not part of having a lap band, thank goodness. LOL

Colonoscopy isn't.   But I have read some people recently post about having to do a bowel prep pre banding.. which sounds like over-kill to me!
