I have been banded for 4 Months.  And so far I'm down 46 lbs.  I am EXTREMELY happy with my band.

I am happy with my band.  With hard work I was able to to lose 150 lbs so far.  The band has helped me stay with in my portions.  Eating a cup or a 1/2 of a cup of something wasn't something I did before.  I can still eat too much but the band makes it easier for me me to resist.  I do put a lot of effort into my weight loss so it's not an easy fix.  I watch what I eat and exercise 9 hours a week.

I was not.  I had to have it removed.

I am a happy person in general, just not with my results with the band.  Sure there are some people that do amazingly well, but there's also a good percentage of those that struggle.  Have you considered the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy?  Its all the best parts of the Band surgery without the potential for mechanical failure or frequent maintenance that the Band requires.

I am VERY happy and more importantly I am VERY HAPPY that I don't have to deal with malabsoprtion issues now at 6 years post op, especially when I lost my weight without it

I love my band, NEVER EVER get a weight loss surgery just because someone else failed.  That is just like saying I flunked out of college because I am dumb and stupid and everyone else is going to flunk because I did.....you get what I am saying.....

What you need to worry about is how many bands your surgeon has performed and how great the AFTERCARE he/she does, if your surgeon performed all pre op testing to ensure you are great candidate for the band and if you are.... your success will be  ALL IN YOUR HANDS.....as long as you do what you are suppose to do, you can easily lose weight....

Good luck
