Thanks everyone! Sorry I didnt mean to offend re: the "im not fat enough for the bypass and at least Im not 350" comment. I know I am technically fat enough and I would be 350 if I didnt do this surgery now! Thank you for all the advice!

I love my band except in the back of my mind is the realistic fact that it's a mechanical device and things can go wrong requiring another surgery or a different type of surgery.  The Sleeve was not an option when I had my surgery because of my insurance.

I have not had any problems "yet" with my band.  Only 4 stuck episodes on too dry of food, and I have never PB'd, but I'm very careful in the volume of food that I eat.  And maybe I'm just lucky also?  One thing with my band is that I went into this thinking if I ate a little bit of food I would feel FULL, but I have never experienced that sensation and I'm okay with that.  I have learned that 3 oz of chicken, pork, beef, fish etc and 1/4c of a veggie or whole grain, I  am not hungry for 4+ hours.  It is enough for me.

I have worked very hard getting these last 15 pounds off and I exercise at least an hour every day.  I am in the best health I have been in since my 20's and I'm 46 now.

I wish you luck on your weight loss journey!

Well, I heard the same and my insurance refused to pay for mine!  I was over 482 lbs and I am almost at my goal of losing over 300lbs!  I'm having my second phase of plastic surgery in 2 weeks and I can't be more thrilled!

I got the band and I proved my insurance and everyone else wrong!  You can lose with the band and you can keep losing until you reach your goal!  I'm three years out and still losing regularly!

The Band Rocks!!!
