So...I ate today then got sick as usual. Then my BFF called (we've been friends since we were 2) and we started talking and I told her what was going on. She puts me on hold and calls her cousin 3 way (who has Lap-band) so I explain the whole thing to her...
She asks me if I am late. I ask the date and say "Actually I am 4 days late, but wouldn't that happen if I am pretty much starving?" She said the same thing I am describing happened to her. She went to the ER and they said "We have to loosen your band, but not because of a slip or obstruction but because you are pregnant".
I am so lost right now. Confused, Frustrated, SCARED, Hungry, and Tired. This has been going on since Easter (April 21st). The first day of my last cycle was March 30th.
She told me to go get a coke and sip on it and the pain and discomfort would go away...I've been sipping for the past 25 min and no more icky feeling. WTF! BTW 3 yrs no carbonated beverages OMG this good. (I feel bad for drinking this).

I've never heard of that... interesting.
Either way, glad the pain went away.
Also - I have been known to sip a Coke, REGULAR Coke on occasion for the same reason... its the carbonation... the "fizzy bubbles" expands your band and allows the food to pass through. Kinda like blowing up a balloon, however it's also the same reason we should stay away from carbonation.
Just try not to make a habit of it. I'm 2+ years post op and I think I've had to use this method maybe 4 or 5 times...

My paycheck went in today so I suppose I'll stop at the drugstore and pick up a test.
As for good or bad. I don't know really. My honey and I have been together for almost 3 yrs. He has teenage kids 17 and 15 almost 16. We have never been without the kids except for a few hours...its been nice. VERY NICE to have that alone time with him. Another 18 years of "I need" "I want"...uhg. But at the same time his kids have known me all their life, they don't call me mom they call me by my name. I wouldn't mind being called mom considering I pretty much am one already but without the title. I suppose I am mixed...
It wouldn't be completely horrible but not completely great either. So I wont be disappointed if I'm not. LOL I don't know how to answer that. I haven't thought about having kids I figured we are good with what we have.

Cheyenne -- that made me spit my wine onto my screen --- LOL
I am 52 and 12 years ago, I spent a large fortune 'trying to be called mom' -- In-vitro, drugs, etc.
If it were to happen now, I would jump with you!
Happily an Aunt to 23 wonderful nieces and nephews and sharing a house with 1 husband and 1 dog!!!

Aunt Flo has arrived faithfully since I was 12. The month after banding I was late. The next few months I was late or light or just all over the map....I'm late again now... But I think at first it was the trauma of surgery then I'm pretty sure it was the weight loss.
So there is a great possibility it's your body adjusting. SO...it's one or the other... :) Good Luck.

PS: Bandsters who become pregnant normally have their band partially unfilled at the end of the 2nd trimester, not at diagnosis, unless they have severe morning sickness.

The stick said no :)
Thank god because when I was taking that test I had 2 kids arguing about who was friends with such and such first and thinking "I really don't want another 18 years of this".
Then I ate and this time no weird feelings in the tummy nothing. So I think the coke (in which I have been carrying around a 3/4 full 20oz bottle since yesterday) somehow worked.
Late period thing hasn't happened to me once in the last 3 yrs post-op. But then again neither has the issues I've been having which has got to put my body under more stress than usual.
