NEW RULE: I eat when the dog eats

I'm tweaking little by little in my plan to get back on track. The wonderful thing about the band is that it gives me time to tweak. Falling off the bandwagon for me just means I gained 2lbs and plateaued for 6 months... not bad in my books.

So I'm going down my checklist of tweaks:

1. Protein shakes for breakfast to let my band rest - DONE!!!
2. No drinking with meals - DONE!!!
3. No bad carbs - DONE!!!

I can't seem to control how many times I eat because I am not working right now and tend to eat more when I watch TV...so... my new rule is....

4. I eat when the dog eats! I have a foster pup that is underweight and I slowly have to get her back to a healthy weight. That means 3 small meals a day and 2 snacks in between. So that's the rule. When the dog eats, I eat... and if I eat, I have to feed the dog. I may be OK with hurting myself, but I sure as hell won't overfeed and make the pup sick! Sad to think that I care more about a dog's body than my own, but reality hurts.

Right there with you with the 6 month plateu--- holy snikeys talk about frustrating but glad to hear you have a plan.  I know part of that time was what I was eating- but I faced the music and took back control and the scale still isn't moving (but I've gone down a size- guess all the working out is helping in some ways but the scale and I are NOT friends right now).

You have done so amazing and if it's any consolation- my docs/nutritionists have told me this sort of stall is very normal after losing a significant amount of weight and it may take some shocking the body to get the fat burning back on (though you don't look like you have much fat left to burn ;o)

Good for you!   I just may follow your suggestions.  I just adopted a little Yorkie who was really dangerously thin.  She was rescued from a breeding farm and now has a wonderful home with me and my hubby.  I have to be careful what I give her because her belly is so tiny.....and mine will be too, reall soon!!   Hats off to you and your foster puppy!!!    Pet friends are the best!

Elena,

I think that is a excellent plan :o) I dont work either and thank goodness summer is coming up . I have a very hard time in the winter and my snacks but in the summer I'm complete opposite I can go all day without eating and not even think about food till that night.  We do so much fishing and playing ********* that keeps my mind busy and off food plus its so dang hot to eat .

It's amazing what we will do for our fur babies.  I have done the same thing .  They mean so much to me I would almost do anything for them and have made sacrifices so they can get what they need .
