bad day eating, good day exercising, question
Ate way too much at work today but walked 3.4 miles at lunch.
Gonna have a lite dinner and workout some more.
Question - during the post op month, do you want to eat or not want to eat, how do you feel? Is the post op liquids and mushies easy or hard? Do you feel hungary?
Pre-op 2 weeks away and I feel starving all the time.

Hang in there! There will be days like this even post op, but the band will help with the hunger.
I don't remember being particularly hungry post op. I had to do 3 weeks liquids and 2 weeks mushie. Mostly I was thrilled to have my first mushy meal! I will never forget it because it was Thanksgiving. I had mashe potatoes and gravy and my mother made me a special SF crustless pumpkin custard in a cup! I think liquids are the hardest becuase after the first week when you'ver really started to heal you will feel like you're ready to eat more. I just made sure I had a beverage in hand at all times! 3 protein shakes a day and then I filled in with boullion, popcicles, SF jello, flavored zero calorie water, ice tea, hot tea, 25 cal hot chocolate, broth, (strained clear based soups), etc.
If it gets unbearable your doc may allow thinned out Cream of Wheat, yogurt, etc. but definately not until week 2 and it all depends. I didn't need it, but I've seen some that do.

I had a harder time during the preop stage then I did the post op to be honest. About the time I would start to get hungry on post op I could move onto my next stage and I would be fine again.
I was lucky I did not experience hunger or very very little during post op. My best friend she was hungry all the time though we are complete opposite. I went into thinking I was going to be hungry all the time so I was in for a surprise when I wasn't hungry. Or I just had my mind set that this is all I could have and I was fine with that .
I have been told by my whole family I went into surgery a weak person but came out a much stronger person lol Sometimes I think they are right then I have my days that they are so wrong lol.
Pre op I think was ten times harder then post op

Great job on the long walk - that definitely helps to "cancel out" some of the food! :)
I had VERY little hunger during the first month after surgery. Similar to the other Lisa above, my surgeon had me on a very slow, graduated diet. The first 2 weeks while I was healing, it was all I could do to get in the required amount of fluids and protein shakes and that kept me completely satiated. So, for me personally, it was not that difficult.
And I was soooooo excited to advance to the mushies stage...I had all of these wonderful ideas and recipes I couldn't hardly wait to put into use. Actually, I still use a lot of the same recipes or variations of them and I am 2 years out!
You're going to do just fine!
