Signs of Spring??

Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Spring can be a bit fickle....but there are signs...

Yesterday we found the dog food was infested (they were having a party in there!) after two days (yes only two) of sunshine and 61 degree weather....it was enough to wake them up...needless to say the exterminator is coming tomorrow to provide us with some "green" and pet-friendly pest control.

Another sign of Spring in our beautiful region is:
The 6 o'clock sunbreak...yes after a dismal, rainy and chilly spring day...at 6pm you can count on the sun coming out beneath the clouds for a last (and sometimes only) hurrah!  As sunset gets later and later in the day, the sunbreak follows and can occur as late as 9:30 pm!

The most unfortunate sign of spring around these parts is the gasoline prices...
they will peak here around Father's day, which coincides within a week or so of school getting out and when at least 25% of the local population get into their gas-guzzling SUVs and green hybrids (we are a confilicted society) and heads south or east to the sun...then the prices fall....25% of the market is gone!  Currently we are paying $4.10 or so for regular gas....too bad our two vehicles don't take regular!

I am typing this wearing my hot pink hibiscus mumu because I think our house needs a more positive sign of spring than ants and skyrocketing gas prices...I am, however, wearing a sweatshirt over it because it is COLD!

Have a wonderful day!

Steph
