As far as why there is anomosity on  my part......it's b/c I got NO support when I started posting about my band problems! I would get trashed and insulted and told that I WAS THE ONE THAT WAS DOING EVERYTHING WRONG! I was told I was too stupid to know how the band was suppose to work! I was told to leave the forum and NOT post here! Etc....

Mary I am happy for anyone that can make the band work! We all started out the same...........hopes and dreams of the band helping us lead a healthy, not overweight life. I just have a problem with the bandsters that continue to insult me and trash me b/c they don't like what I say about the BAND. NOT about THEM.............but about the BAND. Now if I was makiing the same statements about THEM I can very well understand their attacks on me. But like my posts says............I' m not going to be stupid enough to attack and insult someone b/c they disagree with me about a car...............a toaster...........a computer...................a medication.....................or anything. Why would I care? I don't! So I just expect the same consideration that I initially gave to others on the band forum.

It would be like me telling the Toyota poster that they are obviously too STUPID to know how to put the car in the correct gear...............SO OBVIOUSLY IT IS THEIR FAULT THEIR CAR DOESN'T WORK! It's like if I kept giving them the same bad advice over and over............"all you have to do is put transmission fluid in(when the fluid is full already)"...............or telliing them............"your not giving it enough time! if you just keep driving it long enough..........it will start working for you like it's suppose to!"

And btw..................I like purple better too......just not the OH shade of purple! lol

It is like this, Maria.  And correct me if I am wrong.  I don't want to be enemies.

It just seems to me, in your posts that I have read, that you seem to be a band hater because of your experiences.  Is that a fair assessment?

I mean, WLS is WLS is WLS, as far as I'm concerned.  But this is a forum EXCLUSIVELY for the support of Lap Band.  And I just don;t see you doing that all too often.

Link me to some posts where you were supportive of bandsters and their decisions in order to prove my wrong.  For the sake of peace, I hope I AM wrong.

 Hey Big Phil.  I just wanted to step in here in defense of Maria and direct a few comments your way...

1) You said you were done with OH, why haven't you deactivated yet?

2) Looking through your post history, your sole purpose has been to stalk Maria.  She's got nothing to prove to your sorry ass.

3) You're a ******g moron with statements like

     " Is SUCCESS the end-all-be-all to WLS?"

That's all I got to say.

Given that my reply was directed at Maria, I clearly was not talking to you.  So, I apologize for not answering your questions, but, you see, you can kiss my big fat banded butt!  That is all.

Newbies come HERE for band info and we are going to make sure they get ALL of it Philly. Not just the rainbow and unicorn version of it.

I guess insults are a way of providing both sides of the coin?!?!

Newbie's should get all the info, but not discouraged.

Are you saying that if a newbie changes their mind about getting the band, then that would be discouraging ? If you are implying that Maria's post's are discouraging to newbies because some bandsters regard her post's as negative. Then I would have to disagree with you.

When I first started researching lap band surgery on THIS forum. I asked for the good and bad of this surgery, and just like back then. Those that did come forward with their complications were run off this board.

Fortunately or unfortunately...we are growing in numbers and strength, and we are determined to share the other side of the coin with the pre-ops.

All it would take to make this go as smoothly and painlessly as possible, is for those that are successfully and happily banded is to allow the rest of us ( The ones who dislike their bands for many reasons ) NOT that we need anyones permission and I say this with respect and not condensation in my tone.  Is to let everyone share their thoughts, opinions, and POV with those that want to take the time and read our replies and/or threads.

This really doesn't have to be a war between good and evil. In fact it is quite silly to look at it that way at all.

I would never want to intimidate anyone, but I am aware that I have a serious potty mouth and I cannot stand when I see someone passive aggressively being a punk. I always tend to strike back at those who hide behind their passive aggression.

I am not assuming that you were talking about me. I am just applying this to me, so that I could answer your question.

And I can respect that!  You are anti-band.  There are anti-band people.  I get that.  There are people for and against EVERYTHING in life.

I think so people just tend to talk down to, not only banded people, but people considering the band.  We all need support and help, regardless of the WLS we got or will get. 

But I can understand and respect your stance.
