Thanks for taking my reply in the way to which it was intended.
I'm not that far away from being in the overweight category myself, but I'm kinda short so I have some work to do still. I agree with you in that the BMI is not the end-all/be-all of weight loss. However, today I just came back from having an ultrasound and they told me my liver was a little enlarged. They said I need to lose more weight UGH.....
So with that freshly in my mind I started think about the fat that is around my heart still. I know I need to lose more, but it is really hard for me based on the fact that my band really doesn't allow for me to eat dense protein everyday.
Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS again on your weight loss, you have done a superb job.

Hi Dawn,
You are doing so great by hanging in there. I dropped a bit of of weight till i hit this invisible barrier for me. Then it took a few months before my body could move beyond it. I don't really have a good reason for it or understand it medically. But breaking 250 has always been my problem whenever I tried WL on my own. After multiple attempts on my own - and hanging in there through what seemed like forever after my WLS, I did break 250!!!!!! Breaking 190 was my last hurdle. I'd see 189 & then a few days later be back in the 190's. But I did it? I've spent entire week now in the high 180's. My body just sometimes needs time to catch up to my brain.
Talk with your doctor and keep up your work & the suggestions of the other posters. It's gonna happen for you and you'll be so excited when you start to see the change. I'm excited for you!

You may also want to consider changing up your excercise. Your body had adjusted to your work out, maybe walk a bit longer or try jogging (easier said I know), or carry some lite weights with you. I have only had my band since March 1st, but I had to step it up a little bit to get the scale to budge. Good luck!

Do you see your surgeon regularly? His nutritionist? Attend a local support group??
The band does not generally work without adjustments and follow up care.
I saw my surgeon every 3 - 4 weeks for the first 6 months -- then every 8 weeks or so after that.
Are you tracking your food (every bite, every swallow) to see how many calories/carbs/protein you are eating.
Walking 1 - 2 miles a day is a good start ---- probably burning about 50-100 calories per mile based on your size and the speed you walk at.

Hi Dawn,
Can I make a suggestion maybe you are not doing enough exercise ? This is me personally I can not lose weight just by walking it's just not enough cardio for me I have to do something else.
Can you try to add something else into exercise ? Your body will get use to that exercise and not burn as much so you need to change it up .
My body got use to Curves three times a week so I had to add a hr of Zumba classes to my workouts now I do Zumba Monday, Wed (twice starting in June) Thursday nights . I take the weekend off from exercise cause usually by then I'm so dang sore I need the rest lol.

I just kind of skimmed over the responses, but one thing I didn't see mentioned was restriction. Have you ever had restriction/sweet spot/green zone/whatevertheforumhasdecidedisthecorrecttermthisweek??? If not then the band is never going to work. It is advertised that we will reach restriction and then the band works. A lot of bandsters NEVER reach restriction! Therefore.................their band's NEVER work! Kind of like trying to drive that Toyota in reverse. ;-)
That being said.................I would give it a yr. If you never reach restriction during that time just say to hell with it and get a revision to a WLS that DOES work!
Good luck!

I have never reached " The Wondering Sweet Spot " It won't stay still long enough for me to identify it.
