Happy Bandsters?
I have such a happy attitude although I am wracked with nerves... Anytime I do anything with my boyfriend my latest slogan has become... can we do this again in one year? I wanna take pics to compare lol. I talk about my WL as much as he talks about cars lol. I know this is the right decision for me because I want to work it, as well. I want to have as much control as possible about my body's changes. I know it will b good for me!
Remember me...can we do this again in a year bandster family?

I really don't understand the pourpose of the thread? Why would you want just one side of the story???( The head in the sand thing has just never appealed to me.) If you want to hear from happy bandsters, well of course there are some. However they more than likely won't be playing that same tune in a few yrs. with all the slips/port problems/leaks that seem to be showing up on here every day!
So if you just want happy stories..........yes........you will fiind that. But many of these happy bandsters that are replying now aren't going to be quite so happy in a few yrs.
Your approach seems to be like..............lets research and get Consumer Reports..........................but I wanna take a permanent marker and black out the parts of the report that I don't like. Just doesn't seem like a very effective approach to me?
But anyway................good luck!
Actually Maria F its not. There is a difference between explaining why something didnt work for you and your bad experience versus bashing the the thing all together. That would be like me bashing treadmills because I have never been able to successful keep weight off.... Was my treadmill not going fast enough? Was the incline not fast enough... Or maybe it was the gym, they all conspired against me to fail! There is a downside to EVERYTHING! I understand that. My question was to people who were TRULY HAPPY with their decision... I read posts about scary stuff like "stuck episodes", "sliming" "pb's" and all that stuff... but it doesnt scare me away from the band, rather it educates me on topics that I would rather NOT randomly learn from experience... @ least I can be more cautious and even if it happens to me I wont think Im dying or something. Ive read a few of your posts before and Im sorry the band was not the "tool" for you... And thanks for wishing me luck, I am going to take the diginified approach and refrain from insulting you... as I see your experience is doing a good enough job of keeping you miserable, plus... what kind of person would I be to add to that? So I wish you luck as well... and hope that whatever route you choose FINALLY puts a smile on your face!

but didn't you with your backhanded response?
there are MANY success's here & MANY have had a hiccup along the road - i see your relatively new, but for a LONG time this band forum was VICIOUS to those who came and posted a problem....many never came back.
so while maria might ruffle some feathers / or some just don't like her style....she has as much right to post as those who are in love w/their band. some of her posts don't thrill me, but like i said to 'brock" or whatever user name he has going on now, how does maria's so called band bashing diminish someone else's journey? if you give that power over - then the band was placed way too south.
BTW - i have had 2 slips corrected & doing just fine 3.5yrs out.

you are definitely correct about that... but my question did not address her, i was asking for positive experiences w/ the band and anyone who was truly happy... while she was more than welcome to state her experience with the band... she didnt she just informed me that I was looking for a one-sided "head in the sand" justification for my decision... so as back-handed as my comment may have been, i was provoked. thanks.

Well it is annoying when you make a post and direct it at a certain group of ppl and those that it was NOT directed at decide to very LOUDLY voice their opinion on what you never asked them about, isn't it?!
Guess what? It happens to me all the time when I start a thread that states it is specifically for pre-ops! If you want to direct those ppl to stay off of MY posts that don't concern them...........then I will most gladly stay of off YOUR post that was not directed at me! :-)
Have a nice day!
