Lap Band Revision Done

Well, I had my LapBand Revision this past Wed. The doc took out the old band, repaired a hyatial hernia, and put in a new band and new port site.  I am just now getting around.  Still in some pain, but getting stronger every day.  He said the band revision went smooth, but my hernia surgery would cause me the most pain.  I pray that this will be my chance at a new beginning.
I never had any success with the old band, just pain.  My new doc thinks that was caused by the hernia.  Can't wait!!!  I love to see the before and after pics on here.....I dream to be one of those stories!!!
Happy Easter Everyone. May God Bless you!!

Glad to hear all went well.  We are very similar in our stats as my pre-op weight was 259 too.  You can do this!  :)

Thank you so much for the encouragement...I really think that I lacked that from the get go three years ago.  Five days post-op and feeling pretty good.

Just wondering how long you had your band before you had to have the 2nd Lap-Band surgery to replace it???

I had my first band Dec. 27 2007.  I had complications from the beginning.  Never had good results and was always in the office for something.  It was discouraging and depressing.  After my doctor lost his license (longggg story), it took me a year to find someone that would accept me as a patient since many doctors would not see me since  they did not do the initial surgery.  I love my new doctor!! He is fantastic.  He removed my old lap band and replaced it with a new "improved" one and repaired a hiatial hernia, which he thought to be at the root of many of my problems.  I pray that God gives me the strength to use this band as the tool that I have needed for so long.

I am so glad all went well. This will be your second chance because you want it to be. Go through the steps of learning as if you had never heard anything before. You can do it. Good luck.
