My friend has lap-band and she says she feels like she has mucus in her stomach and takes children's liquid musinex an dit helps somewhat. She has a hard time eating and getting her water in. Does anybody know about anything about this?

She should contact her doctor.. we can only give recommendations but after care is MOST important part of having a lap band

It's allergy season and if she is prone to allergies and her nose is draining behind her throat is likely she all junked up.. (for a lack of a better word) in cases like these if allergy medicine doesn't work then she might need a slight unfill until allergy season passes...

my two cents but she should again consult her dr.

Thanks guys, I appriciate you answering me so quickly. I know she needs to see her doc but I thought I'd ask you guys since sometimes you with experience are better than doctors!! Thanks for the ideas, I'll let her know.

When I have 'excess mucous' in the back of my throat -- I try Mucinex until I can get in for a little tiny unfill.

This usually happens during allergy season -- my sinuses and mucous membranes swell a bit, the band tightens, and the normal sinus drainage that goes down the back our our throats 'backs up' --- normally gravity is enough to move it down to our stomachs --but with the swelling, the passage is narrower and we feel it.

I would have her talk to her doc. I had a sinus infection about 7 weeks ago that caused a lot of swelling I had to have a .5cc unfill. it really helped
