Question about Lap Band

Has anyone had Lap Band Surgery with a bmi of 30?

Hmmm...not sure but that sounds REALLY low as far as pre-op requirements.  I'm sure there are exceptions, such as having a BMI of 30 plus other co-morbidities that are affecting quality of life.

30 is really low.Do you have any co morbidities ? I am not sure many insurance co would approve esp. w/o them and do not know if any Dr's would do it w/o them. i think most ins co go with 35-39.9 w/ two major co morbidities. They are changing things everyday but maybe call a few surgeons in your area and your ins co and check there first.

 My ins. company (Aetna) requires BMI of 40 or 35 with comorbidities
