On vacation and can't hold water down!
I had a bad stuck episode in a restaurant last night. I couldn't hold water down all evening. Now this morning I still can't.
I don't know what to do since I am away. This only happened one other time when it got this bad and I went to the dr. for a slight unfill.
Do you think this will resolve on it's own? It has been 12 hrs since being stuck.
How long could this last? 2, 4, 6 hrs? I know I need to keep hydrated but can't!

Sunshine,
Get ahold of someone and tell them that you cant hold water down...especially for that length of time, its not a good thing. (knows from experience). Something you can do in the meantime is try to sip some warm water, the warm water will sometimes pass through in small amounts even if the cold water wont. Call your Dr, and get some warm water (like coffee water). Feel better :) HUGS

You say you're on vacation?? Did you fly? If so.. how long? My friends wife took a 5 hour flight from NYC to Cali and had the same problem.. she was miserable for the whole week. Turns out that her doctor forgot to mention that the pressure changes from altitude drastically effects the band.
When I got banded my doctor told me from the beginning that anything over a 3 hour flight will affect it.

Glad water is going down...try some warm liquids today. My doctor says flying is fine as long as it isn't within 48 hours of a fill, due to the swelling from the fill can be aggravated by being dehydrated from the dry atmosphere of the plane.
Here is why our bands are not affected so much by altitude:
If you have ever noticed when driving over the mountains, we do it every couple of weeks going to and from our lake house, that chips and other things in sealed bags look shrunken when you get back down from high altitude, bu****er bottles don't...the air in the bags is affected by altitude, but the water in the bottles aren't. Our bands are not filled with air, bu****er, and the tiny bit of air that might be in there has little influence on us...the issue, if there was one, is resolved once we are back to normal altitude anyway.
