It will take a few fills to start feeling the restriction.  Fills have to be done slowly or you won't be able to ge****er down.

If you want to know what restriction feels like, ask your surgeon to fill the band to its capacity and let you sip some water. They will then have to open the band up so the water will go thru but you'll surely feel the restriction.  My surgeon did that just so I'd know what I DIDN'T want to feel....which was a band that was way too tight.

I'm so frustrated. If I'm not going to fill any restriction for a few fills then how am I supposed to loose weight??? When will I loose weight?

You measure your food and eat that and then stop.   If you're still hungry after 20 minutes, have more vegetables.

My surgeon says to eat 3oz of protein (about the size of a deck of cards.. all 3 dimensions) and 1/2 cup of low carb veggies per meal.  Your doctor may have other guidelines.. ask.  That is what they are there for is to help you.

You might also want to read what another surgeon (not my doctor) has to say about "restriction".

Everyone is different. Some people feel restriction with no fills at all. What 2 cc's feels like for me may be vastly different from what it feels like for you.

My advice would be to chill out a little bit and take this day by day. I know you're anxious to get the ball rolling. Believe me, we all were! But losing weight is a PROCESS. It will not happen overnight. Some people need several fills before they feel any restriction and start to lose steadily.

You need to remember that you're in this journey for the long haul. It will take some time, and it will have its ups and downs. If you're already frustrated now, I'm afraid you're setting yourself up for a tough battle in the weeks, months and years to come.

You can't go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.
