Ticked Off!

Hi Everyone.....I'm not a newbie...I have lurked in the background for a long time but today I have to share my very frustrating story.

I moved recently from PA to NY and about a month ago made the request to transfer doctors (I need a fill, bad).  After arguing with my old dr's office about a release form that they could not get to 'fax' over to me and waiting over a week to get it in the mail, I finally got them to release my records....Lovely, they are now apparently lost in the US mail system.  So, of course my new doctors office won't schedule an appointment for me until they have my records on hand.  I called today and explained to them that they were being resent and they agreed to at least get my appointment for a fill scheduled.  More great news.....THEY CAN'T GET ME IN UNTIL THE END OF JUNE!   Are you serious!  For a fill!

So, now my old office won't see me because 'I am no longer a patient' and I am stuck waiting for several months for the fill.  I could just cry......I totally went a-wall on the nurse at the new office about it and she told me that 'if I had a complication, they could get me in much faster'.  She seriously was telling me to fake a complication to get an appointment!  I just can't believe it.  So....tomorrow, I guess I will call and fake a complication to get in sooner.  I can't wait till the end of June, that is ridiculous.  Please tell me I am not alone with this experience!

FYI....old dr. was Dr. Ali in Erie PA and my new Dr. is Dr. O'Malley in Rochester NY

\Call your old doc's office and DEMAND that they see you.

They eagerly took your money for the surgery; they can certainly bend a rule to see you one more time. Feel free to mention that you talk to a great number of people online about your surgery and your surgeon, and that you'd hate for bad feelings to taint your opinion of them.

If not, by all means, fake a complication.

HEY... I'm from the Rochester area!!!  I'm in the beginning stages of this whole journey.  My first appt. is the 20th of this month...anywho, I have reseached to death the doctors in rochester.  O'Malley has TONS and TONS of experience, but... you can't ever see him.  I have decided to go with Rochester General.  I was able to get in with them WAY quicker.  The docs there are Dr. Gandhi and Dr. Dibenbetto (or something like that.)  Google Rochester General Baractrics.  Their page will pop right up.

Are you living in rochester?
Just had my RNY on 7.2.12!!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!

I chose Highland purely because they came up under my insurance and being so far out I truly don't go to the doctor anymore for fills more than once or twice a year so I figured no big deal.....guess I was wrong.

Yes!  I just moved to Rochester in August from Erie PA......getting married later this year and my fiance is a native.  You will have to let me know if there are any support groups around.  I was apart of one in Erie that really kept me motivated......I can't find one around here for post surgery patients.

Slow and steady wins the race....but hopefully not too slow!
