Gee she must be a real Saint!! I have what is considered an important job (which I love) and it took me 3 weeks! People always like to judge and make statements that are really none of their business. Bypass is not lap band so she really has no real clue about the band, but......She has no business talking **** to your son!!!! You are his mom, she is the Aunt and she should know better!!
Ignore her, keep taking walks before your surgery! Be excited for your new beginning!!! Do Not Let Anyone Rain on Your Parade!!!

Wow. What nerve. After I had my surgery I felt like I had my c-section all over again. I was sore and needed my husband's help just to tie my shoes. I was only able to take 3 days off of work post surgically because that's all the vacation time I had. My doctor wasn't the one who made me go back so early. If I could have afforded to take more time off after surgery, I would have. I say take all the time you need so that you can heal properly and get back on your feet and feel good. Good luck with your surgery, I'm sure you'll be glad you did it. I was.
She sounds like a jealous LIAR - I do not know anyone who could go to work the day they got out. I took a week off because that's what the surgeon said to do, I could have used a few more days - I am in sales so I am at a desk or sitting with customers so I was OK but I would not have been able to stand in a grocery store for any length of time. It's hard to ignore people like that sometimes because they are in your family but try - stay focused on you and looking after yourself for your own family (husband and kids) and ignore her.
I love the too bad you didn't have supportive people line as well!
Good luck!
