Of Hard Boiled Eggs and String Cheese
LOL...I love random haikus!! My friends and I always create them at work and relate them to any "situations" that might be going on in the office. Hilarious!
Anyhow...Fiber is a tricky one for me to include in my diet successfully without also adding a lot of excess carbs. My surgeon recommended ordering these fiber sprinkles, which I have come to LOVE!!! I add it to my morning shake, on top of my protein cereal, in my greek yogurt, etc. It adds crunch too which I love. As I'm sure you may know, adding grams of fiber allows you to deduct the same amount of grams from your carb intake for the day, which is AWESOME and easy to do with the sprinkles. They are VERY low on the glycemic index and really help to manage hunger longer. Just wanted to throw it out there for you since I had the same issue.

Vegetables are a good source of fiber but I am very limited to which veggies Bandzilla will tolerate. I like baby carrots with hummus. The hummus is also a good source of protein.
You can also add ground flaxseed to many things like yogurt, even soups and salads. If you're going to try flaxseeds make sure they are ground and stored in the fridge.
I've tried soluable fiber, ie, Benefiber but I keep forgetting to use it.
If you are able to do some multi grain crackers that will help too. Also good with hummus. I use Wasa crackers a lot to build mini sandwiches. Coarse crackers work for my band where bread doesn't. Get a Wasa cracker, add a little turkey from the deli, a half a slice of cheese and some mustard, or hummus, or lite cream cheese. Yum. I've even made a tuna melt on a Wasa cracker.
Tuna and egg salad is also great to have on hand.
One of my favorite meals is FF refried beans with diced chicken, a little LF melted cheese and some salsa.
Time to get creative. I never prepared meals before the band and now I bring breakfast and lunch to work every day.
