I had my first fill today, 5 weeks post op and the dr. put 3cc in my 11cc band...doesn't that seem aggressive?

No, not really. My first fill was 1cc in a 4cc band, so ours are about equal, percentage-wise.

Deb,

I got surgery on 3/23 and I also have an 11 cc band.  I will be getting my first fill on Monday and they start me out at 4cc fill...I'm so excited.  Do you feel differently now??  Does it feel weird??

My first fill was 5ccs and then every fill after that was small.

My doctor tried 5cc at my first fill --- it was too much, so we settled on 4cc ----- I have an 11cc band.

The Realize Bands are meant to be filled 'aggressively' at first.

I feel so much better...I was freaking out that he was overly aggressive. On most of the post I have read it is usually .25 or .50cc...but it makes sense for the first to be more, I think he wanted to put more in until he saw my face after he said 3cc.

I am a little terrified of eating solids. I am on liquids for 24hrs.
I don't know what to expect or how it will feel. I haven't pb'd or had a stuck episode, that terrifies me.

Just go slow and steady as you start to eat after that fill.

Tiny bites (the size of a pencil eraser or pea -- seriously, I cut 3 oz of meat into about 30 - 40 bites)

Start with soft food (tuna salad, egg salad, chili, etc).  Then, progress to more solid food as you feel able.

REALIZE Band on 12/20/10 with
I got 6 cc in my 11 cc band in my first fill.  I had my second fill today and told the PA that I thought I was pretty close.  She put in only 1 cc.  My PA today seems a little more conservative than my last PA but she was surprised he put so much in in my first fill.  It seemed to be OK though, no PBing and only a couple of log jams in 10 weeks (which were my fault for taking that extra bite after I got my full signal).

You are going to love when you start feeling the signals.  I have always been such a big eater I was afraid I wouldn't recognize what it felt like, but when I ate slowly and really listened to what my body was telling me it actually worked.

I LOVE my band.

I too just had my first fill approx 6 weeks post op. Doctor put 4ccs into my 10cc band. Yesterday I was on liquids and today I had a protein shake for breakfast and then a 4 oz lunch which seemed so tiny. I'm terrified of getting something stuck, and almost scared to eat. Please tell me it gets better!

How did you feel before the fill? I am one week post op but half of me feels full the other half is growling. Is that normal?
