I need support
Shell,
Everybody reacts to the surgery different . Some people have alot of pain and gas pains from it and then there are others like me that didn't even know I had surgery to be honest.
I had no gas pains, no port pain no nothing. The only thing I had was my upper stomach felt like I did a million sit ups and that was it I was one of the lucky ones I guess.
Others have some port pain where the incision is and the gas pains that can last from a week to two weeks .
Like I said everybody is different on how they do after surgery.
I was back to sleeping on my stomach 7 days after surgery and didn't have to take pain pills but once the entire time.
Best advice I can give you is walk walk and walk when you get tired of walking you walk more . that helps get the gas pain out of you and helps you heal faster.

Hi Shelley
After I woke up from the surgery I was in a lot of pain, they gave me Morphine injections and then tablets to take home, I had an allergic reation to it so I switched to Tylenol 3's. The pain only lasted a day and a half and then it was shoulder pain from the gas they use to expand your stomach while they are operating laproscopically. Walk as much as you can and take Gas-X or something like that. I also had some back pain and used a heating pad. After 3 days I was feeling much better. I don't feel the bad itself but I can now feel the port more easily since I've lost weight - I don't notice that it's there I just mean that I can feel it through my skin with my hand. I have been lucky no issues. I also follwed all of the instructions to the letter. I would say it's like giving birth, worth every minute of the pain for the great outcome.
Take care,
Lori
