Muscle milk

I have been craving ice cream lately. Very unlike me preband. Anyhow my husband is getting banded next week and our dr recommended muscle milk. If tries it and tasted great and I was full much longer than usual. I was curious if I do a shake mid day if that was acceptable.

I drink a protein shake everymorning.  I can't eat until much later in the day because my band is tight in the am, but I can get a shake down.

Just got free samples of muscle milk.
Do you have the pre made shakes or do you make them from powder?

I have the powder. It was super expensive (in my opinion) but it taste really good. I was impressed. I don't like any protein shake i have ever tried and it kept me realy full. I also put  a scoop of pb in it. Our dr said the powder is much better than the pre mixed. We also use skim milk instead of water.

I think it would be fine as long as you dont make a habit of it.  I feel like we need to get our nutrional needs from foods and not liquid drinks so once inawhile is fine like I said dont make a daily habit of it .

I use muscle milk LIGHT almost daily for my breakfast.   I find the regular to be too high in calories for me.  YMMV

This is my opinion...if you drink it in place of one meal and this does not cause you to eat more, I don't see a problem with it, but if you were to do shakes for all meals, then you are using liquid calories to get your meals and this is not how the band is suppose to work.  Sometimes I just don't feel like eating but need the energy so I will have a shake but my next meal will be a dense protein meal.
