Surgery 4/19 and....

 I have a sore throat and feel like I am getting a cold.  Will they still do surgery?  I am so worried about this.  I have to get it on that day because it is over my Spring Break (teacher).  If I can't get it now I will have to wait until summer, which I will be really sad about!  Did this happen to any of you?  DId they do surgery or did you have to put it off?

You can call and ask ---- if you have a fever, they may postpone you ---- perhaps it is allergies, and you will be fever-free and fine for your surgery.

Rest up, plenty of fluids in the next day or 2 --- follow your doctor's instructions about what meds you are allowed to have pre-op.

Zantac...to get the cold down and out in a few days...you are over a week away, so should be fine.

 Thank you ladies for the posts!  I will try and get into the doctor tomorrow and get some meds.  I am not running a fever though, so I don't know if it will be a waste of time.  I am just freaking out I think.  I have been on this liquid diet and I keep thinking how awful it will be if I am sticking to this diet like glue only to find out that I will not be able to get surgery.  I am soooo ready to get the band and move on with my new healthy self!

My surgery was on a Monday and I started feeling bad Friday and was SICK Saturday( strep was going thru our house at the time) . I called the surgeon and the Dr on call called me in an anti-biotic in case that is what I had and said that the Dr would decide whether or not to operate when I got there Monday morning. Everything went along as planned . 
I would go see your PCP and make sure it is not anything you need meds for. Tell him about your upcoming surgery and your time issue he may just give you something to be sure you are good to go. You at least have a little time to get over everything !
