One of my favorites:

"Peanut Butter Protein Shake"

Mix in blender 'til smooth:
1 cup ice
1 cup Skim milk, Soy Milk, or Almond Milk
2 TBS Peanut Butter
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (Body Fortress- from Walmart)
1 packet of Truvia or other sweetener of choice.

I like the Syntrax Nectars......  roadside lemonade, fuzzy navel, lemon tea are all good.  Next one I'm ordering is the pink grapefruit.  They also have "sweets" which are chocolate, vanilla, latte, etc.

I've never found these in stores, but you can get samples from Syntrax for about 1.00 a package.  Go to www.si03.com and email and ask about samples.

I mix them with water or powerade zero or crystal light.  They're 90 to 100 calories, depending on which flavor you get, 23 grams of protein and 0 carbs.

In the RTD (ready to drink) I like Muscle Milk Light in Vanilla Creme and Strawberry Creme.  The chocolate tastes funky to me.

EAScarbvantage (or maybe it's called carbcontrol) is a second runner up.  But these I prefer to pour into a glass and add some torani or davinci sugar free syrup.

The key with RTD's is to get them as cold as you can.   Hope this helps.

I bought premixed because it worked better with my lifestyle.  My favorite was Atkins Chocolate Royal.  You can buy them at WM in 4-packs...1 g of sugar 15 or 16g protein and 160 cals.  And additional little bonus I got from them is that my pitifully skinny son took a shine to them too. So I still buy a pack every week because he'll have one every other day or so.

Good luck!

I prefer the Gaspari Myoplex powder (Choc Peanut Butter) that powder has whey and some casein protein (the casein is digested slower - keeping you a bit fuller longer and allows you to have a higher protein amount with the ability to digest it)  Normally any protein shake over 20 gr protein is generally worthless as your body cannot metabolize that much at one time.  All my powdered protein shakes I always do in blender with a few ice cubes.  If I am making it a meal replacement, I will add 1/4 c oats, 1-2 teaspoons of peantut butter (remember theres a TON of cals in PB and its NOT a protein source, its a FAT source - but a balanced meal will have some healthy fat - so use it, but sparingly!!!)  Sometimes some wheatgerm, sometimes vanilla greek yogurt or a 1/2 banana..  Depends on my nutritional needs for the day.  But the protein I mentioned above, doesn't need anything added to make it taste great.

I also keep either SetPointHealth choc shakes or Muscle Milk Lite or Adkins shakes in the fridge for those hurry up moments.  So always keep a few pre mixed handy.
