I used to dread summer!

Couldn't hide behind my big baggy winter shirts

Sweat collecting in all those folds of fat

Over-heated from all that blubber.

Well here in the UK we are having a ridiculously warm spring - today near London it was an amazing 73 F in the sun! And it was up there for much of last week too. Believe me I am not stripping down to midriff baring tops and mini skirts, but I am so very happy in my light summer shirt and cotton skirt and with my bare legs!

Thank you, band!

Kate,

I know just what you mean. I spent so many years traveling on business in tropical climates, visiting factories and showrooms with no air conditioning or fans. I had to keep a canister of body powder in my purse to keep those fat folds as dry as possible...a bandana to mop the sweat off my face...The "chub rub" caused painful rashes on my inner thighs...and there I was hiding in long trousers (black, of course) and long-sleeved baggy shirts (black, of course).

I'm glad those days are gone!

Oh Jean! I had forgotten! Holidays abroad, baking weather, and me wearing cycling shorts under my mid-calf skirt to stop my legs chafing!! And so getting hotter and hotter!!!

What an awful memory!

73 F Kate? Send some of that warm weather my way, please. It is snowing in north central PA today. I am starting to worry that the Easter Bunny may have to wear snow shoes this year.

Yes. We English are, of course, famous for our 70+F days at the end of March , early April!!

I wish!!   We often get a warm late April and May is often nice but this started well before the end of March! Crazy! I have had to go out and water my tubs of pansies!!

Kim, we are having crazy weather, how about it....yesterday when I left Danville traveling west to State College, Danville was 39 and rain, about half way home, it was 32 and snowing like crazy, then closer to Bellefonte, it went back up to 39 and no rain or snow...we have had such crazy weather here!!!!  Did you get my message regarding the Danville Center?

Oh I am soooo looking forward to this Summer.  This will be my first Summer that I'm not morbidly obese in 15 years.  I forgot what it feels like to enjoy Summer.  I can't wait to buy cute Summer capris and tops and actually look cute in them!!!  I am even treating myself to a pedicure the first sign of hot weather!!!

I'm going shopping this weekend for some short sleeve shirts for my vaca next week and not automatically ruling out how short the sleeves have to be for me to buy one. At this point I have some MUSKULES ("muscles", my nickname for the "little guns" I now have on the top of my arms) and I am not going to injure someone or block someone view when I wave or clap at the jazz fest I'm going to due to the amount of batwings on the bottom of my arms that I still have!
