Band surgery 4
In what sense was your slight band slip an emergency?
As for surviving the liquid diet, I found that crunching on SF popsicles helped satisfy my desire to eat. I got protein from protein shakes (mostly chocolate, my favorite). Also, I used Unjury chicken soup protein powder.
I don't think eating ice cream is cheating too drastically (though it won't help your weight in the long run), but just because you can get soft food down (soups, yogurts, eggs, etc.) doesn't mean you should eat them. If you've had more than one band slip, I think it's extra important to follow your surgeon's instructions even though it's absolutely no fun!
Hang in there!

Thanks Jean! I have popsicles so I'll try eating more of them to satisfy the craving to chew something. The slip was an emergency because I couldn't get any food down and I was starting to have trouble keeping liquids down. Plus, I get extreme back pain when my band is out of place. I agree with you that I should follow my surgeon's instructions 100%, I think I was just hoping someone had a magic cure, lol!
Toni, you must be one of those - um - lucky? people who's extra sensitive to the band. You definitely get an "A" for effort!
Magic cure? Nope!
