Need to get on track.. Please help!
I had my lapband surgery 2 yrs ago. I lost 80 lbs and I was ok with that. I had alot of blood problems and found out I was anemic. In Dec I had to have a hysterectomy. I gained 10 lbs right away. I was having alot of problems with my band thinking I had 5.5 cc in my band my dr took out all the saline and I had actually had I think 8 or 9 cc in it and she took out a full 1 because I did an upper GI and found that I had a Prolapsed band, I think thats what she called it, anyway my stomach was coming over my band a little because my band was way too tight. I have gained another 10 lbs and it is scareing me to death! My blood dr told me that now that Im not anemic what I was doing to lose weight may not work anymore and I may actually start gaining and he was right, I am! Im not sure how to get back on track and start losing again. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance! I had a total hysterectomy, just cervix and uterus. I still have my ovaries but I see alot of difference in my body.
Wow, I wish I had any advice but this is way outside my knowledge base. I search hysterectomy and weight loss on google and it seemed like there was at least a starting place. Maybe just changing around your life - new foods, new exercises, new haircut, new clothes - sometimes things both big and small can help us find what we need. Good luck to you and keep us posted.

I think the unfill for a prolapse is only a certain amt of time then they check ands see if it corrected itself so I would call and ask the Dr how long you will have to be unfilled and make a date to go in and see him and talk options. The sooner you get a fill and get back on track the better. Good luck to you ! :)
I am sorry to read about your problems but I can truly relate. I too had a full hysterectomy (cervix, uterus and ovaries). After I a first had it, I was down and depressed...went through the "feeling less than a whole woman" period and I was anemic. I guess my saving grace was that even with no having as much saline as before, I was able to maintain.
You seem to have 3 issues going on.
1. Anemic, are you taking iron for this? You will need to because I know when I was really low..I was just tired and just did not want to deal with life but thing got better once I got my levels up.
2. You need to find out if the prolapsed band has reset itself and then get to a comfortable fill, but never to tight, this works against you.
3. Are you exercising...even when you feeling blue, exercises will help you and balance out your calorie intake.
Please feel free to PM if you want to talk one on one...I truly can relate to what you are going through.

Thank you everyone for your support and your replys. No, Im not exercising like I should, I spend most of my day with school work and by the time I get done the kids are home from school I have to cook dinner and its late. I know that I need to take out some time to do what I have to for myself. I luckily not anemic anymore and according to my blood doctor that is why im gaining weight. Plus I know im eating all the wrong things. I need to get back on track! I'm just not sure I know how!
Gosh being a women sucks sometimes doesn't it.. all those hormones just mess us all up inside.. I tend to retain tons of water and weight can go but and down in huge numbers due to water..
My only suggestion is towards getting back on track.. I lost my father last year and gained 20 pounds I turned to food to comfort me when he was in the hospital and by the time he passed I didn't care what I was consuming.. it was just hand to mouth exercises.. none of my clothes fit and well that depressed me MORE.. I'm down 11 pounds of those 20...
First I stopped eating junk... no treats no more cookies, candy, ice cream, chips.. because these were some of the things I was consuming along with my meal.. at this point I wasn't super strict with what I was eating like if my roommate made spagetti (just an example) .. I would still eat that but I didn't follow it by 1 cup of ice cream anymore...
I did this for about two weeks.. then I got serious with my food... protein (chicken, lean pork, ground sirlion, lean ground turkey, low sodium ham or turkey from the deli, 2% cheese only, laughing cow cheese or WW cream cheese.. fruit and veggies and whole grain rice
Then I started to plan out my meals... and started moving again... I started slow 2-3 days at the gym and now it's more 4-5 days at the gym.. I still have days where I eat a cookie or what have you but now I have more of a balance.. this is the way it should be..
Good Luck

You've been through a lot...hugs to you.
My first thought is..she is going to do so well!
Not sure what I can offer but I'll try.(just a few things that have helped me when I've gone "off program".)
Protein, protein, protein!(cheesesticks, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs,(egg salad) tuna & chicken salad,- just started putting curry powder in my tuna)(yum)
I'm a big icecream addict. I knew I had to find something that made me think I was getting my fix. Here's what I do. Base is always greek yogurt(frozen for at least 20 minutes), then I go wild mixing it up with the following ad -ins(now I don't use all these at one time, lol)
blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, pecans, shred. coconut, PB2(peanut butter 2), protein powders, and sugarfree davinic sf syrups(german chocolate, peanut butter, and on and on)
Find something to substitute your downfalls.
And I hate to say it(because I hate to hear it, lol) WATER, water, and more water. It really does help.(dang it...lol)
And fight to get past this....you can do it.
