To all lap banders I would like to know what did you say to the old you before you went in for surgery to help you go through and stay true to this life changing experience?

I said "you're going to do it this time and that this was my only chance at a great future for me AND my family".  I kept assuring myself that I was doing the right thing and there was no looking back!!!!

Good luck to you!

I told myself that this was something that would help me get to a healthier weight and KEEP it off!

Make sure you take before pics and measurements!

Best wishes to you on your journey,
Kristi

I told myself that I wanted to see and hold my grandchildren - my son is only 15.  But with the way I was going, it was debatable as to whether I'd be attending his High School graduation in a wheelchair.  My cholesterol has been high for years (partly due to genetics) and my blood pressure has been high for 3 years, on medication.  My ankles and knees hurt alot.  Which kept me from walking!  I was getting really afraid that I would die from a heart attack.

I also told myself that I deserved to be happy, even if I had to go through some pain and a lifestyle change.  I'm 6 weeks out from the surgery, and I'm already happier.  I've lost 27 lbs., and can walk further than I've been able to in years!  I also have alot more energy, and don't feel like I need a nap during the day.

Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted!
