Hello all...First post op today and I found out that I have the Realize Band.  I hope its okay that stay on the Lap-Band forum as well??

Anyway, I get to add egg beaters, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, and egg salad/chicken salad/tuna and tuna salad!  I'm so excited.  Who the heck would have guessed one would be so excited to eat an egg!!!  LOL....Anyway, the nurses and docs said I look like I'm more like a couple months out, because I don't look like I'm only 2 wks out, whatever that ment, I'm going to think it was ment to be a complament(sp).  I am down 17lbs from pre surgery and 22lbs from the first time I walked in that office!!  They are very pleased with that as well!!

I go back on 4/18 for my first fill..He said I have the Realize band and it holds 11 cc's, and the first fill is always 4cc's(i think cc's or ml's) what ever form of measurement they use!!

Anyway, thank you all for your support and thought I would share the good news!!

About that 4 cc fill...Realize recommends 3-5 cc for first fill...better to be a little cautious than overdo it.  At 10 months out, I still have just 3.5 cc.

Congrats on the great weight loss!

Steph,

I was a little thrown back as well when he said about the 4cc's, I thought it was a lot to start off with, but believe me, I don't keep quite when I'm not happy!  He will know if I don't like it!!  LOL.  Thank you though for the heads up!

At 10 mths out how do you feel??  Still losing about 1-2 lbs a week?

Congratulations!!! Sounds like you are doing everything right. Take it one day at a time this is not a race, we did not get heavy in one day and we will not lose the weight in one day!!! Make sure you go back to your doctor for aftercare. For me aftercare is the life of my band.

Yes, you can stay on this forum, anyone is welcome. Ask all the questions that you need to reach your goal. Again congratulations !!!

Congrats, Jshivery!!!

I just got back from my first post-op.  My first fill will be on the 19th, but we didn't discuss how much it would be (I didn't even think to ask....duh!).  I'm down 12 lbs since my pre-op appointment on 3/8 and 37 lbs from my very first consult in October, 2009.  Had issues with my insurance and was more than thrilled when I finally got approved!!  I just got through eating some pureed chili from Wendy's......LOVE IT!!  I completely know how you feel about getting excited over such a little thing as food changes (upgrades).

Keep up the good work!!

PS:  can I friend you since we are on the same post-op schedule?

Thanks, Jamie.  I've added you to my friends.  Yes, the doctor said I could start having pureed foods for the next two weeks.  I can start adding mashed banana to my protein drinks, cottage cheese (with pureed fruit...yum!), refried beans with cheese/sour cream and even peanut butter.  Oh, and soft scrambled eggs, vegies that are cooked well.  I'm so excited!!  Looking forward to hearing how you are getting along in the next few weeks.  Especially, let me know how your fill goes on the 18th.

Congrats on your good post op. Keep up the good work.
Many of us here have Realize bands. I stay here because the Realize forum is not very active so this is better. Look at the name of this forum as Band forum, no matter the type, they are all pretty much the same, anyway.
