Weight loss can interfere with hormonal balance.  Our fat cells make a form of estrogen and when we lose fat, we lose that estrogen.

If you're sexually active (assuming with the opposite sex), you should be using some form of birth control if possible because women can become much more fertile as they lose weight.

It probably wouldn't hurt for you to place a call into whoever does your well woman care..just to be on the safe side.

Mine started during my surgery, and I was mortified. My surgery was March 15th, and it was just as you describe, and it ended up being longer than usual. I just figure, I'll deal with it as long as I'm losing weight!

I started my period the day before surgery !!! the only good thing about it is them pain killers helped with the dang cramps knocked them right out lol.

Mine is really goofy since I have lost almost 50 pounds.  Last month I had terrible cramps , my period lasted 7 days and heavy for a good four of them days.

I just started this month on Wed no cramps hardly , and I'm done already I love it .   Maybe if I lose another 50 they will just go away ??? lmao   Okay back to reality now I know that isn't going to happen lol.

So I'm just like you so I know I'm normal so are you :o)  :o)

...I would get a pregnacy test unless there is absolutely no chance you could be pregnant.  Those were the symptoms I had with my last pregnancy (1979) and I actually was 13 weeks pregnant.  I will spare you the details, but if you are pregant, you need to see your ob doc asap.

Let us know!

Our hormones will do crazy things sometimes.  I got mine one day after surgery and it was suppose to be the next week.  The stress of the surgery made my hormones go crazy and there I was with a horrible headache and then BAM!  I would say that it is pretty normal, but you might want to check with your primary care doctor just in case.  Good luck with your weight loss.
