Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Thanks for posting that, very interesting. I didn't know DS & Rny could be reveresed. Did you? I guess I don't understand them as well as I thought I did.

Yes, thanks Kate - that was an eye-opener.  I hadn't done much research into RNY or other types of WLS before I decided on the lapband, so didn't realize the malabsorptive procedures could lead to things like osteoporosis, etc.  But that makes sense.  And not being able to absorb chemo should one need it - yikes, never thought of that.

I certainly hope my health never requires removal of my band, but of course if it was life or death the band would come out.  14 months out I feel I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits to the point where I would be able to maintain some semblance of a normal-weight life, but I really would not want to have to find out the hard way.

Wow...thank you Kate.  This really encourages me in my decision for the Band over the RNY/
So glad you showed us that
