Pain / Ache at port area.....
The intent of the comment was NEVER to make fun of you!! Although I will be the first one to admit that when other have attacked me on here, I will get just as rude and nasty with them............but my comments revolved around wanting her to suggest something that would help you instead of just telling you to do the same thing you've been doing.

I wish there was something specific I could say and someone would say "exactly" what was wrong. So many things it could be and frankly I am only hoping for it to be ME. Is it possible that people can actually never get restriction? I guess I don't really think I know what true restriction is -- my dr doesn't do anything but ask questions, no tests or anything. So I am going to see where I am at after the 12th -- when I visit with my dr. Thanks you all for your posts.

1)I'm almost six years out. I don't know why (& neither does my surgeon) but certain foods cause my intestines to become kinda.... ummm.. bloated but also ultra sensitive. So that if I turn or move, bend or whatever a certain way it feels like something is tugging on my port. We've done tons of tests & aren't sure why... but it just does. So my question, or thought, to you is do you notice this after eating a certain food or doing a specific task?
2) I noticed in this post & another that you stated that you've figured out how to eat around the band & still make bad food choices. I was wondering if perhaps you might be interested in reading some books by a lady named Geneen Roth. She writes books about emotional compulsive food addictions. I know it's probably something your not thinking about, but her first book "When food is Love" really got me to understand that my food issues & why I was obese & why I "fought" hard to make the band work was because I was still a very hurt little girl still looking around waiting for acceptance from myself, socially, and from the world. It was a book that lifted A LOT (& I can NOT stress the importance of the word A LOT adequately) of weight of pain, frustration, and hurt that I had carried around in my life but refused to accept & awknowledge. After that book I did a book (actually it was a workbook) she wrote called "Why Weight? A Guide to Ending Compulsive Eating.". She also writes short articles for Good Housekeeping. She use to be morbidly obese herself. She's very insightful & compassionate. Reading her material really changed MANY MANY things in my life, mostly ME!
So just a few things to think about. I hope you find a solution for your problems so & with medical guidance.
Blessings.

Interesting that you had your second point. Recently I was looking into OA meetings, I noticed that they are both online and live meeting groups. I was considering going because I know I have a very compulsive nature. I will check my Kindle subsciption books tonight and see if I can find this book. It definately won't hurt and I greatly appreciate your feedback.

In addition to on-line OA meetings, there is www.therecoverygroup.org -- they do an email loop and Step Study -- where there is a leader who posts 'shares' every week for 12 weeks --- and the people in the loop share as they want to.
There is a new Step Study beginning tomorrow -----
I find it to be very helpful --- sometimes I just 'read along' and sometimes I actively partcipate, but I always get something out of it.
Best of luck ---- and yes, some days I 'feel' my port more than others -- I think it is due to bloating.
Hope you get some answers at your appointment in a few weeks.
