I have lost over 100 pounds since having the LapBand surgery in May 2010. I started out at 424 on my own and got down to 389, since the LapBand surgery my current weight is 279 and and I'm a size 46 or 44 in th waste and 1X or XL shirt depending on the cut. I'm 20 pounds from my goal weight, but I'm stuck at 279. What am I doing wrong? I workout twice a day for 1 hour somtimes for the first time and again for about 45 minutes during the second workout. I workout on the treadmill. I'm walking and running. Any suggestion?

I am in the same boat as you. I haven't lost anything significant in about 6 months. I am now following some of the suggestions I have received on here. I have changed my exercise routine run and walk on the treadmill, and I have increased my calories for few weeks then I will drop them back down. I just started this a few days ago so have seen any results yet, but hope to soon.

You need to change the type and intensity of your workouts.  Your body becomes accustomed to your workout and as you lose weight you don't burn calories at the same rate as you did before.  So for instance when I was jogging at 4 mph for 30 minnutes in the beginning, I burned a lot more calories back then, then it does now...because it doesn't take me as much effort.  So as you become more fit you have to increase your workout for the same effect.  You also need to weight lift.  Weight lifting does wonders for weight loss.

Are you attending the WLS Support Group that Chaisson/Burpee offer?
Do you possibly need a little more fill in your band?

I would start by checking in with Dr. Chaisson -- and see what he thinks.

It is possible that your body has gotten used to the level of exercise you are doing and you need to change things up.
