South Beach is a great program for insulin resistance and PCOS.  You pretty much need to live your life like a diabetic with PCOS, because it will respond to a low glycemic diet.  I downloaded the South Beach Diet Superquick Cookbook onto my kindle and my iphone and love it.

I just downloaded "Against the Grain" for my nook. Have you heard of it? Its a cookbook full of Mediterranean recipes written by someone who followed the South Beach plan. I am just starting to read it right now but I cant wait til phase two when I can try these recipes. Though I am sure there are some for phase 1 I think the majority are for after the 2 week start up.

I have PCOS and got the band 4/14/2010.  I think that I've done really well so far.  My TOM has been regular since surgery, which is new for me.  My doctor recommends the "Eating for Life" book and gives it to all of his patients at our first visit.  It is very similar to the South Beach diet, but it isn't a staged eating plan like in South Beach. Both focus on protein/good carbs combos that don't really raise blood sugar as much as refined carbs.  There are really good recipes in the book, all easy to follow and using regular ingredients you can find in any grocery store.  It is primarily how I have eaten since surgery, so I think that it has been helpful.
