eating a hambuger
I am having my surgery on May 6th, cant wait. I had to go last week to get all the test done before surgery. All the people I delt with at the hospital were great. They all had great things to say about my dr.
anyway one of them said that they had only see the Dr really upset at a paitent one time. I guess she had went in and had the surgery, as soon as she was released she went and got a hamburger to eat. Ended up in the emergency room a few minutes later.
Would love to ask that person what she was thinking LOL

This happens all the time, they usually end on the revisions forums and bash the band and say it does not work.
True. I have been banded almost 7 years. I am not at all ignorant to the fact that there are legitimate complications, so many people I know who have issues have them bc of non-compliance.
7 yrs on OH, 7 yrs active in WLS community, I have seen more people breaking band rules than I can count and than whining how the band failed them.

That is insane. I was way to scared to ever do that. Although I will confess that, about four days post-op I was feeling sick and wanted something salty. My boys were eating popcorn. I stole a piece, stuck in in my nouth, sucked on it for a few seconds and spit it out. No way would I ever thought of swallowing it. So I couldn't imagine a birger. I didn't even want to think f a burger that soon.

I wouldn't been scared to death! One of the horror stories my surgeon tells is that one of his sleeve patient's went to McDonald's the first week out and ended up bursting his whole staple line-- ended up in ICU for quite a while. Just hearing that preop was enough to make me scared of anything but liquids :)
Oh my gosh that is awful !! why even get the surgery done if you are not going to follow rules epseically right after surgery . gosh I have never heard of this one before.
It took me two months post op to get the courage to try salads out to see if I could eat them lol .
Man I havent had a fast food burger since Nov .lol. some days a big ole juicy burger sounds so good but I know me I would get the guilts and order a salad instead lmao.

Some people go into surgery like the doc just wrote a prescription for a new drug. They don't understand that *any* weight loss surgery requires substantial lifestyle changes. There ain't no miracle weight loss treatment that lets you eat the same as always have! I have a friend who was banded a few months before me. He guzzles beer like crazy, and doesn't understand why I've lost weight and kept it off, while he's bigger than he was before getting the band.

I can't believe that person wasn't in too much discomfort post surgery to be able to eat a buger.
