Hey friends. Amanda here . Down 55 lbs since my surgery in july. I have another 50 to go. I have been having issues with my band the past 2 months with pain in the chest area when I lay down and can't get any solid food sown. Oh and I should mention I am completly unfilled. I am on protonix and carafate whick I think is an ulcer mdsication. I have been calling ym doc weekly with my complaints and he keeps telling me keep trying the meds and give it some more time.He doesnt know what is going on. eating anyhting not liquid is VERY painful! I get stuck on everythign solid. I don,t know wht is going on I had an endoscpoy when the pain started 2 months ago and he didnt see anyhitng so he just though maybe I was too filled. Did a complete uncfill and it has been getting worse since so that now I cant eat anythign but when is he going to do something about it. i DONT want to lose my band but I just want to know what is going on and I want to make sure I am not doing any internal damage. Any thougths

MY two cents? Stop putting it off and get in there to see him. If you've been that miserable for that long, don't KEEP being miserable.

Something is not right.  Have you had an UGI done where you swallow the barium and they watch it go down on the screen?  You need to be assertive and tell them nothing is helping and that it's getting worse.  Are you able to get in adequate fluids or softs in until Monday?  If not able to keep fluids down, then you need to get something done now.

VSG on 03/25/16

I would not give it more time , I would find a new doctor or go to the ER this does not sound right. Two months is way to long to have a problem. Hope you get relief soon

The longer you ignore or suffer with a medical problem, the harder it becomes to treat. Go back to see your surgeon, insist on an upper GI study to see if everything's OK in there, and if he still can't or won't figure it all out, get a second opinion.

In the meantime, follow a liquid diet so you won't irritate everything even more with more eating problems.

Good luck!

I wouldn't wait either. Last Thursday, I woke up and everything I ate or drank hurt as it passed through the band. I knew something wasn't right. I went Friday around mid-day to the doctor, which he wasn't in the office that day but came in to see me, and he unfilled me all the way. I think you should go immediately to get some tests done.
