stuck and still suffering!

Last night I got stuck on a piece of steak.  An hour later I drank some water and that wouldn't even go down. 
This morning a had 3 sips of coffee and ended up throwing up again.
It has been 15 hrs since the stuck episode.
Do you think I need to call the dr?

I have had the band for over 2 yrs and never had this problem.  I'm just concerned that I can't even drink liquids.

Can food stay stuck?

ive never still been stuck the next day...swollen though,,,steak sometimes gets me bad unless its reallllllly rare....try some papaya pills but id call do if you cant get anything dow...maybe u ned a slight unfill from the swelling

I don't think you are still stuck..it sound like you have irritated the opening of your stoma to the point that is is swollen now.  however if you cant drink water...you have a serious problem and that is nothing to play around.  If you could drink water, I would say go on liquid and let it rest but in your case...CALL YOUR DOCTOR...GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR.

i AGREE. CALL YOUR DOCOTOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE PAST, AND THEY DID A FLURO AND AN UNFILL BECAUSE I WAS VERY IRRITATED FROM A STUCK EPISODE ;-(

This does not sound like you are STILL STUCK. If you have had repeated vomiting after your "stuck" episode, that steak should have came up by now.

Typically a stuck episode WILL CONTINUE and YOU WILL CONTINUE REPEATED VOMITING until YOUR POUCH GET RID OF THE STUCK FOOD AND YES stuck episodes CAN LAST FOR HOURS UNTIL THE FOOD COMES UP,  BUT YOU WILL NOT REST UNTIL THE FOOD COMES UP, IF YOU HAD FOOD STUCK.

It does not sound like you are still stuck, but swollen and TOO TIGHT and need saline removed ASAP. 

My doc says that any 'stuck' that does not resolve completely in about 6 hours needs medical intervention.

When I got stuck on New year's Day, he had me stand up - and took all of the fluid out of my band -- he had me take tiny, tiny sips of water -- to dislodge the food that was stuck.

Then, he put the fluid back into my band and had me drink bigger swallows of water to make sure I could keep them down.

He said if I had waited another day, he would have unfilled me -- and left me unfilled for a few weeks to let things heal ---- best to go in right away.

Hi, I got stuck on steak too. Hurt sooo bad. My Dr. said to mix a little meat tenderizer in some water and sip on that. It worked. i was sore the next day. Do liquids for 24 hrs. It will get better

Thanks everyone.  I went to the dr. and had .5 cc taken out.  I feel soooo much better! I am finally able to get liquids down.
