meat stuck!!

I will never eat pork again.. Its just too dense.Mostly my fault. I learned never to cut meat and eat while standing.. I tased the sliced piece and forgot to chew well and swolled and you know the rest...I'm still waiting over 30 minutes for it too past through the band.  Now I'm really wondering if next week when I see the doctor, if I want the 2nd fill or not. I had the heital hernia repaired with surgery and only had one fill. Nothing last month and since I didn't lose I wanted a fill.  Now I'm not sure/its a little scarey when this happans...It happaned to me a few times. Once with shrimp and once with a piece of chicken breast...I never eat meat dry. always with gravy or sauce or something to keep it wet. This is an awful feeling...

If you don't have papaya enzyme, make some hot tea and take very tiny, infinitesmal sips.  Sometimes the heat will let the band loosen just a bit.

Or you could try applying heat from the outside with a heating pad.. but don't know how well that would work.

Some people swear by pineapple juice at room temperature.

Others say meat tenderizer.  This is the only one I haven't tried.

Getting stuck is a learning experience.  When you've done it enough times, you learn what not to do ever again.  :(  I made pork chops just two nights ago.. used a marinade before they were grilled and they came out very tender.  Don't give up on them, just try to find ways to fix them that they come out moister.

Hello

I have the same problem with dry meats (like white meat chicken).  I also have a problem with reheated meat...unless it's in a stew or something. 

I have tried meat tenderizer once and I had no luck.  The best thing for me is walking around and putting my arms over my head.  You look like a dork...but who cares.  What usually happens is either it will go down or come back up.

I agree with the papaya and the very warm liquid, both help me.  Me and pork do not get along either, I miss me some ham.  I wouldn't base your upcoming fill on this episode. More on if you are eating your small bites, chewing well are well hydrated, eating your allotted amount of food, are you full for 4-5 hours. If not you may need a fill.
Make sure and baby your band for 24 hours, softer foods, it is probably irritated and swollen due to your stuck episode. I try and think of "stucks" as our band saying to us, "hey, I'm in here, doing my work, now follow the rules"

I take a different approach. I get up, pace, stretch my arms over my head. I take huge breaths and then exhale as much as I can. The movement will usually give it enough wiggle room to pass through.

Yes, it can be rough, but this is what we signed up for. This is negative reinforcement at it's best. You won't make this mistake often I imagine.

 I remember the first time I got stuck. God it sucked. It hurt, I was scared, I was drooling all over the freaking place. When it finally passed I realize that my hardware was working. It was by far the worst and best day since surgery LOL!

I love pork chops but they can be dry . What I do is marinade them for 24 hrs before I eat them and that really helps.

Sometimes I use ff Italian dressing or I love the Caribbean Jerk sauce boy that is yummy also.

Also, I buy the Pork Sirloin chops they are a little more expensive t hen the cheap chops but I think they are a better quality meat and they are tender .  I love to fix them on the grill they taste great that way .

Poor thing. I hear you. I got stuck on roast beef yesterday. It was horrible. I finally went into the bathroom after 20 minutes and prayed it would come out. It did! I waited a few hours and tried some soup later.. same thing. I gave up and ate yogurt at 10 at night. I might call today for a slight unfill of maybe a 1/4 cc.
BTW.. I can't eat pork either anymore .
Restriction is a good thing.. but it also stinks sometimes. haha.
